I recently remodeled my kitchen and chose soapstone from a local quarry for countertops. I learned about the process from mountain to my kitchen, and was fascinated by the technique of using diamond-studded wire saws to cut blocks from the mountain. This video shows that process well. Diamond saws are amazing.
